How BREATH Works

The BREATH (Bioinformatics REsource ATlas for the Healthy lung) database utilizes RDF, SPARQL, and OWL. LungMAP exemplifies the use of semantic web technologies to provide a collaborative and open access data application for the scientific research community. This paper presented at the International Workshop on Semantic Big Data, Chicago, Illinois USA, May 2017 gives a full description of the database structure and how data are linked using an ontology of standard terms.
